Our RCYS Coach will guide and teach your child skills and strategies to enhance their self esteem. Through the Positive Action evidence based curriculum, individuals will learn how both positive and negative thoughts, feelings, and actions contribute to their self concept, therefore impacting their self confidence.. The goal of this program is to empower individuals with moment-by-moment practice of thinking, acting, and feeling positive about themselves. Positive Action proves when a child feels confident about themselves, they think and act accordingly. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 10-12 weeks.

Coping Skills help us cope with everyday stressors. This program teaches skills and strategies to help youth better understand and accept their difficult feelings, learn how to manage them, and identify tools to make positive changes in their lives. The goal of this program is to help individuals enhance their lives through four modules; mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 10-12 weeks.

Decision making is an important skill as it helps a child become more independent, responsible, and confident. With an RCYS Coach, your child will learn how to identify a problem or situation, gather information, make a positive/healthy choice, and take action.  They will learn how to identify positive and negative decisions, as well as positive and/or negative consequences of those actions. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 6-8 weeks.

Baby Doll Circle Time provides the opportunity for young children to experience being the nurturer by interacting with their baby dolls in the same ways that we as caring adults might interact with them. As the children play with their dolls, they relive and strengthen the attachment and connection that they have with their caregivers and parents. Baby Doll Circle Time is a way to ensure that children experience the attachment, emotional connection, trust, and social play required for optimal brain development.

Self Management is critical in reaching our goals. Practicing self-management can help build your self confidence and self esteem. Under our Self Management Program, your child will learn how to better manage their thoughts, actions, and feelings, along with their motivation, energy, time, talents, possessions, and money. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 8 weeks.

In this Anger Management Skills program, the client will learn how to better understand and manage their anger. Your child will learn how to identify the thoughts and physical symptoms of anger and learn valuable coping skills to reduce the frequency and severity of anger. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 6-8 weeks.

Our First Time Offender Program, It’s My Life is designed as a skill building curriculum intended to give both youth and parents/guardians easy to use techniques to improve their lives together at home and in their community. Two key principles of this program are “Decide, Don’t Slide” and “Do Your Part.” Participants will learn better communication skills; understand emotional regulation and awareness; learn about smart choices, the umbrella of authority and circle of control; and consider cultural awareness and values, stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. Each of the 6 sessions last approximately 2-hours and must be attended by both the youth and a parent or guardian.

Our Prevention Coaches will not only act as a life coach to your child but also teach them the basics of playing the ukulele (names of the strings, how to tune the instrument, and how to play some basic chords). In addition, we will be helping your child write their own lyrics and put them to music. The goal of the space is to be a safe, child-led (operating only at your child's pace) environment that helps reduce stress and anxiety. Our goal is to empower your child by helping them learn a new skill in this fun, stress-free environment.  The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 9 weeks.

Your child will learn to express their own struggles through creative writing. During the class, your child will select a short piece of literature about a person who overcame something difficult. We will review the story of their choosing together in a space that will allow for discussion as we process the story together.  A Prevention Coach will provide your child with creative writing prompts as they assist them each week in journaling their personal story, with an emphasis on a challenge they have overcome. The goal of this program is to encourage youth to use their voice and to see the power in their life stories. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 9 weeks.

Our RCYS Coach will provide your child with therapeutic art activity prompts that they will work on together during the hour. These activities will vary from painting, drawing, and more all on various mediums such as paper, rocks, clay pots, poster boards, magazines and much more. The goal of this program is to encourage your child to express themselves through creativity and to help them identify their feelings in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal with this program is to create an outlet in which they can express their feelings, fears, and dreams in a fun, artistic, and encouraging atmosphere. The program is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, but typically lasts 8-10 week
